For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved cutting paper. I have wonderful memories of Christmas time, when I would sit in my bedroom and carve out festive shapes to brighten up my little artificial tree.
By the time I was ten, I was a dab hand with a pair of scissors and had progressed to intricate paper designs. My creative interest in paper craft continued through my design degree and flourished in the art lessons I ran as a primary school teacher
‘Hooray for Hector’ was created shortly after the birth of my much-longed for little boy, Hector, prompted us all to shout ‘Hooray!’. My joy at his arrival inspired me to begin creating memories for others in the form of beautiful and personal paper art.
Every time I create a new design I am capturing a special moment for someone in the intricate carvings of the paper. And each one takes me back to my bedroom, snipping away, carefully unfolding the artwork to reveal something utterly timeless, delicate and unique.”
